Launching our new longer pet visits for Pet Parents in Abbotsford and Mission
After some ruminating and internal debate, I have decided to jump in paws first and launch longer pet visits for our clients. This is something that has been on my mind for a while and it is time.
This will give our clients more options to better meet their pets' needs, cater to pets who need more time, and most importantly, make pets even happier than before.
Our new longer "Power Sniffari Walk" for dogs
A 1.5 hour private on-leash dog walk.
We have seen dogs that may need just a bit more than a regular walk. Way way back in time, we did offer a 90 minute dog walk but after several injuries and a busy schedule it became too difficult. But, now that our team has grown and I have more help I think it is time to relaunch it for those dogs that need it.
Why is it called a "Power Sniffari"? Well, it's a pretty catchy name and perfectly describes what we will be doing. Our focus is mental enrichment, as well as physical exercise. Our walks will be indulgent and allow the dogs to be dogs. They can sniff what they want, choose which way they want to go, and enjoy exploring. And, it is much more than our typical 30 minute midday walk. We can explore further than ever before and give them so much more to satisfy their curiosity and activity level. They will get home and be content and relaxed for the rest of their day.
It is also an option for homes with 2 or 3 large rambunctious dogs that can't normally be walked together. The longer walk will allow each dog to get either the walk time split, or at least a full half hour out and about. They can each sniff all the important landmarks and make their mark in the neighbourhood.
To start, we only have very limited spots available on certain weekday mornings. But later this year we are hoping to open up additional spots.

Our Premium Cat Care "Happy Purr Session"
A 2 hour cat care visit for really shy, scared, and pampered cats who need extra play or cuddle time.
I heard an interview with another cat sitting business on the Petsitter Confessional Podcast. They discussed offering extended visits that had great success. They were specifically concerned with really shy cats that tend to stay hidden during a typical visit. And, with a longer visit, they found that those shy cats would come out of hiding and finally get comfortable and interact with their team members.
This really resonated with me as we do have many shy cats that we care for. Some do come around, and we become great friends, but some do not and will hide or keep their distance. Wouldn't it be amazing if we could offer an extended service for these cats and give them the companionship they deserve? Heck yes!
So do I call it the 'extended extended pet visit'? No, that's lame. After some debate, 'Happy Purr Session' rose to the top of the list.
Did you know that not all purrs mean the cat is happy? That idea is actually a myth; purrs can mean many different things. Not all good. So our goal is to get genuinely happy purrs with time and patience.
It is really for cat parents who are concerned about their cat's well-being and want the best for their beloved shy and fearful cats. It lets the cat get comfortable at their own pace. No more rushing, no more desperate searches for a glimpse of the shy cat. We can relax, the cat can relax, and we can make them feel safe and help them out of their scaredy cat shell.
But, it's not just for those shy cats! If you have a friendly cat that would love extra cuddle time or a young energetic cat who needs extra play time, this is a great option. We can spend the whole time as their lap cat platform, play with the wand toy, enjoy some nip, and just have a nice fun and relaxing visit. Dare I say some special 'mew time'?
Happy cat purrs = happy cat parents
If you are interested but it is not in the budget to book daily Happy Purr Sessions I would suggest booking your regular daily cat visits and then scheduling this new service once or twice a week. That will keep costs down but still give your cat a premium experience. Give them a chance to really relax and get to know us better.
